Positive Peers 2.2.0

Positive Peers is a private social media application designed for young individuals living with HIV to connect with one another and effectively manage their health on a daily basis. This innovative application was created by The MetroHealth System’s Compass Services, in collaboration with Blue Star Design and Blackbird.

To be eligible to join Positive Peers, certain criteria must be met:

• You must confirm your positive HIV status.
• You must fall within the age range of 13 to 34.
• You should have regular access to a smartphone capable of running the application.
• You need a valid email address for enrollment.

Positive Peers aims to enhance your sense of connection, provide valuable information, and offer increased security in the management of your health. The key features of this platform include:

• Private chat functionality for confidential conversations with other young individuals living with HIV.
• A community forum facilitating ongoing group discussions.
• 'Tales of Triumph,' sharing inspiring stories of success from individuals living with HIV.
• A health tracker that allows you to monitor medication intake, mood fluctuations, and healthy habits.
• Informative blogs that offer insights on HIV and help locate local community resources.

Furthermore, Positive Peers serves as a research project, where users are required to complete online surveys prior to enrollment and periodically post-enrollment. These surveys play a crucial role in facilitating improvements and enhancing knowledge about living with HIV for the MetroHealth team.
